(to be said kneeling before the altar)
ALL: My Lord, Jesus Christ, / You have made this journey to die for me with unspeakable love; / and I have so many times ungratefully abandoned You. / But now I love You with all my heart; / and, because I love You, I am sincerely sorry for ever having offended You. / Pardon me, my God, and permit me to accompany You on this journey. / You go to die for love of me; / I want, my beloved Redeemer, to die for love of You. / My Jesus, I will live and die always united to You.

Will you speak falsely for God
and speak deceitfully for him?
Will you show partiality toward him?
Will you plead the case for God?
Will it be well with you when he searches you out?
Or can you deceive him, as one deceives a man?
He will surely rebuke you
if in secret you show partiality.
Will not his majesty terrify you,
and the dread of him fall upon you?
Your maxims are proverbs of ashes;
your defenses are defenses of clay.

as for tongues,
they will cease;
as for knowledge,
it will pass away.
For we know in part
and we prophesy in part,
but when the perfect comes,
the partial will pass away.
When I was a child,
I spoke like a child,
I thought like a child,
I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man,
I gave up childish ways.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part;
then I shall know fully,
even as I have been fully known.

Then I turned to see the voice
that was speaking to me,
and on turning I saw
seven golden lampstands,
and in the midst of the lampstands
one like a son of man,
clothed with a long robe
and with a golden sash around his chest.
The hairs of his head were white,
like white wool, like snow.
His eyes were like a flame of fire,
his feet were like burnished bronze,
refined in a furnace,
and his voice was like the roar of many waters.
In his right hand he held seven stars,
from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword,
and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.
